DONALD
Isn’t it funny—
About people and money
Both have two sides
No telling which it will be
No telling which you will see
Plain and simple, like letter P
Or a regal face like her majesty

Isn’t it strange—
How coins become change
At least I hoped
In giving my sixpence away
In giving I would make her day
Thin and shabby, like the face of a stray
What’s changed is my idea of her, I dare say

Isn’t it nonsense—
For want of a sixpence
Or wanting to want
Who’s missing something of value
Who’s missing someone with value
Small and shabby, yes, that is true
But her manners and heart shine right through

She looked like a beggar to me
But now, if I look, what I see is

SIBLINGS
The little-girl-who’s-not-a-beggar
The little-girl-who’s-not-a-beggar
The little-girl-who’s-not-a-beggar

DONALD & SIBLINGS
Who on Earth could she be?

SIBLINGS
Isn’t it thrilling–
With just a half a shilling

DONALD
I met a girl

SIBLINGS
Who’s secretly just like we
Who’s secretly a mystery
Plain and simple, like letter P
With a regal face like her majesty

DONALD
She looked like a beggar to me

SIBLINGS
But now, if we look, what we see is
The little-girl-who’s-not-a-beggar
The little-girl-who’s-not-a-beggar
The little-girl-who’s-not-a-beggar

DONALD
Who on Earth could she be?
